Four More Letters

After a long break due to a holiday in Bali I have now finished four more letters for my things Japanese alphabet.

E is for Edokomon, a small pattern used for fabric design

F is a furin, a small wind chime.  The piece of paper attached to the clapper catches the wind and often has a poem written on it.

G is for geta, wooden clogs worn by both men and women.

H stands for hinamatsuri, the dolls festival or girl's day (3rd March) when dolls representing the Emperor his lady and courtiers are set out on display.  The displays can be very elaborate and may include miniature dinner and tea sets.  Little girls might invite their friends around for sweets and cake.
